Philadelphia is called the City of Neighborhoods because of the rich history, family traditions, and great friendships that each little section of the city holds.  Welcome to our little corner of the web to remember one of the best neighborhoods in this great City of Neighborhoods, the Germantown Brickyard!

Welcome graphic

After several months of trouble with the web service, it's all worked out.
The Photo Album has been updated with pictures from those of you who have shared them.  So, please, share more.
Photos should post to the site more quickly, now.
Hope you all are well and enjoying life!

Follow the link below to the new Message Board.  The guestbook has grown too large and we need a better place to be able to communicate.  The new forum should make it even easier to stay in touch.  Please, sign the guestbook if you are a new user, but use the forum for general conversations.  Thanks!!!!!!

Do you remember the Lang McCann Post, Nicolletti's, Scaela's Tomato Pie, the Germantown Boys Club and all of the fun that we had in the Brickyard?

If so, this is the place for you.  Join us, review the pages, post a memory, and enjoy thinking about the happy times that we all had all those years ago.

The memories aren't just lived here in cyberspace.  We had the 1st BRICKYARD REUNION in May 2008 at Westy's Pub in Wildwood and a small get together in 2009!!   Maybe, we'll do it again sometime!!!!!  Keep checking back for updates and possible get togethers.

Keep posting in the Message Forum, too.  It's great hearing from everyone and sharing your memories.

Be sure to check out all of the sections!!!!

A little about me:  I'm Mike Garvey.  I'm the fourth of Charles and Alberta Garvey's fourteen children.  The family lived on Bringhurst and later moved to Manheim in Germantown.  Now a retired business agent from the Philadelphia Roofer's Union, I enjoy time with my large family, two young grandchildren, work around the house, various Irish-American organizations in Philly and my classic car.  I hope you enjoy the site and are interested in sharing your memories of the Brickyard.
